Meet Mrs. Oyen

 
I grew up on a dairy farm in Northeastern Iowa as the youngest of five and the only girl.  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.  I received my Master's Degree in Education from St. Mary's University of Minnesota.

I really love teaching 2nd grade!  I have taught both 1st and 2nd grade at Otter Lake Elementary.  I have been teaching in White Bear Lake Area Schools since 2002.  Prior to that, I was a special education teacher for 4 years in Princeton, MN.

I enjoy spending time with my family of 3 redheads.  My husband, Matthew, is the band and orchestra director at St. Paul Central High School.    My son Carter (5) and my daughter Mara (3) are full of energy!  I also like to listen to music, sing, run 5K races, read magazines, take photos, and organize things.
